Most frequent questions and answers

Participants MAY NOT RUN THE COURSE MORE THAN ONE TIME UNLESS THEY REGISTER TWICE.  For example, a participant may run in both an individual and team wave as long as they have paid for each registration.  Participants will only be timed in the wave(s) that they start in.

Our policy is that we do not allow refunds, except in the case of military deployments.

There’s no time limit. We want all participants to finish the course in a time that is safe and comfortable to them!

It is a challenge but it is also constructed to be safe for all ages of the participants and the skill level of those participants (some of our younger participants will need assistance, however). You might find some obstacles challenging and others a piece of cake. Just for Fun Waves may skip obstacles without paying the burpee penalty.

We encourage parents to run in the Just for Fun non-competitive wave with their kids, if desired. Adults/parents must be registered to run with their child. EVERY RUNNER MUST BE REGISTERED. If your child desires to run the course alone, they may run in any wave.

**Please Note: 12 & Under may race in any wave but runners are NOT eligible for awards in the “Just For Fun” waves.

Our course is designed with safety as the number one priority. However, in the event an injury occurs, there will be a medical station onsite.
There is no time limit on the course, but most participants finish in under an hour.

We suggest keeping your items somewhere where you know it will be safe, as we will not have a bag check at the event. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. ASCO Spartacus Dash recommends locking vehicles at the event and does not recommend leaving property (especially valuables) in cars. WE WILL HAVE A KEY DROP. PLEASE VISIT THE KEY DROP TENT. ALL ITEMS MUST FIT IN THE QUART SIZED ZIPLOCK BAG PROVIDED AT THE KEY DROP TENT.

A participant can opt out of an obstacle by going around it, with the exception of the competitive waves. Competitive waves must complete the obstacle or 15 burpees. However, 12 & Under must complete 10 burpees. Volunteers will be stationed at each obstacle to ensure completion. Any penalty will result in a DQ.

JUST FOR FUN WAVES DO NOT HAVE TO COMPLETE BURPEES OR COMPLETE EVERY OBSTACLE.

Competitive waves include the 9:00AM Wave, 9:30AM Wave & 10:00AM TEAM Wave

THESE WAVES MUST ATTEMPT TO COMPLETE AN OBSTACLE BEFORE BEGINNING BURPEES. An attempt, at a minimum, is defined by touching the obstacle and making a legitimate effort to make forward progress. In other cases it may include entering the water or other difficult terrain, to get to the obstacle itself. Such terraincannot be bypassed via a penalty, unless advised as acceptable in pre-race briefings or by race day staff/volunteers.IN OTHER WORDS, YOU CANNOT ARRIVE TO AN OBSTACLE AND CHOOSE TO “SKIP” IT IN EXCHANGE FOR BURPEES. YOU MUST ATTEMPT THE OBSTACLE AND FAIL BEFORE BEGINNING BURPEES

There would not be an additional cost. However, everyone’s registration is as an individual. Individuals register, and in the registration process, you are asked if they want to join a team. If you decline, but later decide that you do want to have a team, you can go to the main page of the registration site and create a new team, then add yourselves. If there is already a team you want to join, you can go to the main registration site, search for that team, then add a registration.

*If you register as a TEAM, please note the requirements: 4 individuals must be on your Team- no more, no less. 1 MUST be female. If not, you and/or your Team will NOT be eligible for Team or Individual awards. Changes must be made by 11:59 PM the day before race day. We will NOT set up a new team on race morning.
